PAC / PIN & customer number information

Adelaide Bank provides the freedom to access your accounts electronically in a number of ways.

What is a PAC?

A Personal Access Code (PAC) is issued to Adelaide Bank customers who register to use Online Banking and Express Line phone banking.

What is a PIN?

A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is issued to Adelaide Bank Visa and Cashcard cardholders to use as identification in ATMs and EFTPOS facilities.

What is a customer number?

Every Adelaide Bank customer is assigned a unique number that assists Adelaide Bank in identifying ownership and relationships between our customers, their accounts and other services.

Important information

Keeping your PAC and/or PIN and your customer number secure is extremely important. If you do not take proper care of them, someone else may try to use them to withdraw or transfer funds from your accounts without your permission.

  • When your PIN and/or PAC is issued, destroy the secured envelope immediately after memorising.
  • Do not tell your PIN or PAC to anyone else.
  • Do not record your PIN on your Visa or Cashcard or any other bank issued forms.
  • Do not record your PIN with your PAC.

The EFT Code of Conduct sets out in full situations in which you could be liable for unauthorised transactions involving your card, PIN and/or PAC. Your liability for such losses will be determined under the EFT Code, rather than these guidelines.

For more information, please read the EFT Code or call us on 13 22 20.
