Our compliance

Adelaide Bank as a division of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank adopted the modified Code of Banking Practice in 2005.  This voluntary code provides guidelines for good banking practice between banks and their individual customers and their small business customers. 

The modified Code...

  • applies to any financial product or service supplied by Adelaide Bank to an individual or small business
  • requires extensive disclosure of information by us to guarantors
  • requires us to exercise the care and skill of a prudent banker in relation to credit assessment  before offering a new credit facility or increasing an existing facility
  • requires us to accept and process a customer's request to cancel a Direct Debit and compalint on irregular transactions, without referring the customer to the merchant first
  • requires us to process a claim for a chargeback right for credit card customers within a specified time and manner
  • requires us to publish Family Law Guidelines
